This gorgeous little monarch opal has hues of purple, blue, white and so much more. This listing is for a set of five separate rings. The main ring features the little round monarch opal, and the four additional rings are dainty simple gold bands. These rings can be worn all together or worn separately.
This ring set is a size 6. The opal is approximately 8mm large. All of the gold fill ring bands have a light hammered texture.
The little opal is set in a solid 14k gold bezel, sterling silver backing (not seen when worn) and a 14k gold fill ring band. Using these three different metals for one piece gives the look of solid gold but without the hefty price tag. The four additional stackable rings are made from 14k gold fill.
What is a monarch opal?
Monarch opal is a cultured opal certified by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America). It has nano particles of silica dioxide, just the same as natural opal. It takes about a year to grow. It is more durable than natural opals, so it is ideal for jewelry and it won't be harmed by detergents like hand soap. There are no color enhancements or dyes. All the colors are created by the prismatic effect of the light dispersion on the silica particles. These gorgeous monarch opals are grown right here in the USA.
